Four things you won’t want to miss at Study Abroad Week

Author: Jessie Carson

Thinking about studying abroad? Notre Dame Global’s annual Study Abroad Week is the perfect chance to learn about programs, ask your burning questions, and get excited about opportunities to travel abroad! This year, it’ll be from September 23 to September 26, and the events will be taking place all across campus. Here are four reasons you should check it out.

  1. Learn fast facts about all major programs

Notre Dame Global offers over 60 semester and/or academic year study abroad programs—that’s a lot of programs to consider! Throughout the week, you’ll have the opportunity to attend speed info sessions that will feature a brief overview on various programs. These sessions, available for both semester and summer programs, offer a great starting point for learning about the different locations and the resources available to you.

  1. Get personalized help picking the best program for you

Not sure which program fits best with your major? Torn between a fall or spring session? Unsure about traveling to certain locations? If you have any lingering questions after the info sessions, or would just like some one-on-one help deciding on your program, drop by “Advising on the Fly.” Study Abroad staff will be there to answer your questions and offer advice.

  1. Hear firsthand testimonies from students who have been in your shoes

Students are invited to attend any of the four identity panels, hosted by the Notre Dame Student Government, taking place over the course of the week. Whether you’re interested in hearing about experiences related to disability advocacy and accessibility abroad, first-generation low-income advocacy, LGBTQ+ identity, or race and ethnicity identity, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from students who have been abroad and can speak to these topics on a personal level.

  1. Mix and mingle with fellow study abroad students

Are you curious about studying abroad? Want to hear firsthand experiences and get insider tips from students who’ve already embarked on this exciting journey? Come to our Student Mixer, where you’ll have the chance to connect with fellow students and connect with those who’ve recently returned from their own study abroad adventures. This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions, get advice, and make new friends who share your passion for exploring the world.

Bonus: This year, we’ll have Notre Dame Global colleagues from each of our 12 global locations present—which means we’ll have representatives from Beijing, Dublin, Hong Kong, Jerusalem, Kylemore, London, Mexico, Mumbai, Nairobi, Rome, São Paulo, and Santiago present during the week. Talk about a ton of global knowledge in one place!
