Author: Jessica Lee

Join Notre Dame's Pre-College Programs in fall 2020 for the first ever online Global Scholars program.

Precollegeglobalscholarsprogram

This virtual program offers rising sophomores and juniors the opportunity to engage with Notre Dame International faculty teaching at the University's London, Rome, and Ireland Global Gateways. Students will be challenged on topics not typically offered in the high school curriculum by faculty who will inspire students to see the world and themselves in new ways.

Students can choose from 11 course options, including:

The program is designed to give high school students a taste of what studying abroad at the college level is like and how to explore interests on a deeper level.

Director of Academic Programs at the London Global Gateway Alice Tyrell says that in developing Global Scholars with the Pre-College team, the goal was to offer high school students an early taste of the sort of international perspective that faculty at our Gateways and Centers typically offer to the University's study abroad students.

“While global mobility is limited, it seems more important than ever to create opportunities to engage in study with an international dimension,” says Tyrell. “We hope this collection of topical and engaging short courses will give these students an insight into what it means to become a global citizen, as a student at Notre Dame, and that the experience will light a spark within them as they consider their future paths."

Class sizes will be kept small to allow students to develop meaningful connections with classmates and benefit from individualized instruction by Notre Dame faculty.
