Taoiseach Simon Harris to speak at 2024 MacGill Summer School
Newly elected Taoiseach Simon Harris, TD, has been added as the keynote speaker for this year’s MacGill Summer School (18-20 July). The MacGill Summer School, in association with University of Notre Dame, is Ireland’s international forum for thought leaders to discuss the critical issues facing Ireland, Europe and our World.
Founded over forty years ago in the small town of Glenties in County Donegal, the event has evolved into one of Ireland's premier fora for analyzing topics of national and international significance. It consistently serves as a venue for innovative and fresh thinking on a range of social, economic, and political ideas. Every July, it gathers together policy makers and policy formers, heads of industry, trade union leaders, economists, sociologists, church leaders and a broad range of public representatives from the North and South of Ireland, and beyond.
The theme of the 2024 summer school is “On The Brink.” It will focus on analyzing the challenges facing Ireland and the world. Over forty-five National and global experts from the worlds of politics, media, public health, security, intelligence, technology and neuroscience will speak at the Summer School.
Audiences from all over Ireland and abroad will attend discussions on various topics, including "Beyond GDP: How will Ireland spend its billions," "Intelligence capabilities for a world on the brink," "Elections 2024: USA," and "Elections 2024: Ireland."
